Our dental surgeons have all the necessary expertise to perform various types of treatments, from the simplest to the most complex. The most common procedures are root canal treatments, simple extraction of decayed or broken teeth, wisdom tooth removal and gum grafts. A root canal treatment can save your tooth without the need for extraction. Gum grafts help solidify the gums around teeth. Some procedures are more complex, such as the removal of impacted wisdom teeth or treatments for other forms of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Depending on the situation, we’ll work closely with specialists such as maxillofacial surgeons, endodontists, periodontists or prosthodontists. A detailed examination will determine which procedure is most appropriate for you.
Root canal treatments – Endodontics
Cavities are not usually painful. However, if the decay reaches the deepest layer of the tooth, bacteria can enter and damage the nerve. When the cavity reaches the nerve, the patient feels intense pain which can be associated with swelling from an infection. Rather than removing the tooth, the dentist can perform a root canal treatment, which involves removing the nerve and cleaning the interior of the infected tooth. Since the tooth is devitalized, solidifying it with a crown is recommended. This restoration can be performed in a single visit thanks to CEREC technology.

Tooth extraction
Wisdom teeth
Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to develop, typically appearing between ages 17 and 25. When they have enough space to erupt properly, wisdom teeth do not need to be removed. However, if they lack space, wisdom teeth may not erupt properly or stay impacted. In these cases, they should be removed in order to prevent complications like infection, pain or the formation of cysts.

Gum grafts
When gums shrink and recede, the teeth become loose and the roots of the teeth are exposed, leading to painful sensitivity to cold or sweet foods. Gum grafts help restore the thickness and height of the gums. This treatment involves removing a small amount of tissue from the palate and transplanting it in the problematic area. The success rate for this procedure is excellent and the results are long-lasting.
